The network assistance will only detect the drive if the unit is properly booted up, so it makes sense that you cannot see it with the WD drives in it. I'm sure what the person you were speaking with meant to say was that since the OS is stored on the disks they need to come from us OR be copied over during a build (like I described above) Secondly, we don't test with every drive available so our compatibility stance on WD drives is "we didn't test it so we can't guarantee it will work". I apologize for the seemingly curt stance on which HDDs to use. LaCie Network Assistant.exe kann Programme überwachen und Eingaben aufzeichnen. Die Software kann mit Hilfe der Systemsteuerung/Software vom PC entfernt werden. Die Software öffnet einen Port, um eine LAN bzw. So if you have your original disks you can add one and one of your new drives and let it build, then copy the 2nd new disk in with this model that is the only way to replace disks. Die Datei LaCie Network Assistant.exe ist keine Windows System Datei. The 2Big Network 2 does require that the OS be copied from one disk to another during build. The other thing is that the NAS its self might be faulty or my router is getting in the way of network assistant, can anyone tell me if I should be able to see it if there are incompatible drives installed or even no drives in it? If I should be able too then I'll look into my router settings and see its causing the issues. It seems that the new WD Red ones will but I don't really want to have to shell out £140 for new drives when I've got 2 perfectly good ones already. Is this because the WD Green drives aren't comptable? I asked LaCie but they are being singularly unhelpful and wont tell me anything other than buy drives from us and they'll work.ĭoes anyone have any idea about drive compatibility? I've stumped up some info that suggests that the firmware on green drives won't work with RAID. Mac: Go > Applications > LaCie Network Assistant LaCie Network Assistant offers two options to mount your user folder: 1. STEP 3: Connect using LaCie Network Assistant. Windows: Start > Programs > LaCie Network Assistant. I put them in, the LED's go blue indicating that the drives have been recognised but LaCie Network Assistant can't see anything. View the LaCie 2big Network 2 manual for free or ask your question to other LaCie. It worked perfectly up until recently when it seems to have droppped off the network completely. So i see two solution: use another Network Space Max unit to recover files or just forget them (most of them are saved while there were some present only on that NAS).I have a LaCie 2big Network 2 that I'd like to use with 2x1TB WD Green Drives (1x WD10EZRX & 1x WD010EADS). I have had a Lacie Ethernet Disk Mini NAS for almost a year now and it houses all the music I own. I took it to a electronic repair shop and they asked me the circuitboard diagram to repair it: i asked for it to LaCie support and they just told me they don't own that diagram and there is no authorized LaCie repair that can fix it since it is an old model. Furthermore when i opened the case i damaged the motherboard by touching a component (I guess it was a condenser) which fell loosen, then i saw there were another component missing. The failure of the LaCie was that it was not answering to NET wake-up and the blue light was flashing but not waking up in any way. I am trying to recover data with Seagate Disk Recover, looks like it see a lot of files but when i try to open them they just dont work. Thanks JaredDM for your asnwer, I was not understanding why the disk could not be read with another device.
